Color printer, scanner, and paper... learned from YouTube, started printing fake notes

A man in Rajkot, Gujarat was arrested for running a factory that printed counterfeit currency notes after learning techniques online.

In Rajkot, Gujarat, a significant counterfeit currency operation has been uncovered, leading to the arrest of an individual involved in producing fake notes. The Special Operations Group (SOG) raided a location in the Raiyadhar area based on credible information, where they found the suspect, identified as Naitik Agrawat, along with the equipment needed for printing counterfeit notes. Prior to the raid, police had already seized 38 fake notes that were set to enter circulation in the market.

The suspect admitted to creating counterfeit currency due to financial difficulties and learned the printing methods from YouTube. During the police operation, investigators discovered a printer-scanner, various tools including a cutter and empty A-4 paper sheets, and 15 counterfeit notes printed on both sides, all sharing the same serial number. This incident raises alarms over the ease with which individuals can acquire knowledge for engaging in illegal activities through online platforms.

The presence of counterfeit currency not only threatens the economic stability of the area but also poses risks to transactions for unsuspecting buyers and sellers in local markets. Authorities have emphasized the need for vigilance among the public regarding counterfeit notes and are continuing investigations to track down any additional suspects or accomplices involved in the operation.
