The ration distribution department took decisive action in Mumbai's Worli area against a gang engaged in the black marketing of gas cylinders, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of domestic and commercial cylinders. Authorities initiated this operation upon receiving intelligence regarding illegal storage and sale of gas cylinders at inflated prices in residential areas. The operation targeted the 'Suraj Vallabhdas Chawl' area along Ganpatrao Kadam Marg, where the gang was reportedly hoarding cylinders to sell them in the black market.

During the operation, a total of 6 filled and 58 empty cylinders, along with other filled cylinders from different gas companies, were confiscated. Officials revealed that the cylinders were prepared to be illegally refilled and sold at exorbitant rates in the black market. This crackdown highlights the ongoing issues related to cylinder black marketing in the region, prompting the government to take a firmer stance against such illegal operations.

In reaction to the persistence of black marketing activities, the government is intensifying scrutiny through dedicated monitoring teams and plans to hold high-level meetings to make critical decisions regarding future actions.
