Rwanda: Businessman Twagirumukiza Elected New PSF Chairperson

François Twagirumukiza has been elected as the new Chairperson of Rwanda's Private Sector Federation, replacing Jeanne-Françoise Mubiligi.

François Twagirumukiza, a prominent businessman and shareholder in CHIC Ltd, has been elected the new Chairperson of Rwanda's Private Sector Federation (PSF) during a meeting held on March 12. Twagirumukiza, who has a substantial business background and owns several companies including White Stone Apartments and Eastern Hope Ltd, will serve a three-year term that can be renewed once. His election marks a strategic change in leadership within the PSF, which plays a vital role in advocating and representing the interests of the private sector in Rwanda.

With a business experience spanning 28 years, Twagirumukiza began his career as a teacher before transitioning into the business field shortly after. His educational background in African linguistics complements his practical experience, positioning him as a leader capable of navigating complex business environments. The PSF aims to foster a more inclusive leadership dynamic in its current elections, which reflects broader trends of empowerment in the Rwandan business scene.

The election of Twagirumukiza is a significant development for the PSF, as he brings a fresh perspective and leadership style to the organization. Alongside him, his appointed Vice Chairpersons, Jean-Claude Uwizeyemungu and Diane Kamanzi, owner of Mahwi Grain Millers and a clothing factory in the Kigali Special Economic Zone respectively, signify a diverse representation that may influence policy and operational strategies in favor of inclusive growth for the Rwandan economy. As they take office, their priorities and initiatives will be keenly observed by stakeholders across the business landscape in Rwanda.
