The Lithuanian Army has announced a combat self-defense tournament organized by the 'Iron Wolf' Infantry Brigade in Alytus, which is a tradition celebrating its roots back to 1995. Initially held in Panevėžys, the first event brought together volunteers, police officers, and regular military forces, serving as a platform not just for sports, but for strengthening camaraderie, professional skills, and military spirit. Over the years, the tournament structure has evolved from team competitions to individual fights, but the core values and traditions have remained unchanged.

The tournament was held biennially until 2010, when it was paused for some time. However, in 2018, this cherished tradition was revived and has since become an annual event, reflecting the importance of such gatherings in fostering community spirit and skill development among participants. The upcoming tournament will take place at the Alytus Sports Center and will also feature an exhibition of military equipment from the Lithuanian Army, enriching the event's appeal to attendees.
