Russia launched a massive missile and drone attack against Ukraine

Russia has conducted a significant missile and drone strike against Ukraine, leading to multiple explosions reported in various regions, particularly in Kyiv.

On the night leading into Saturday, Russia executed a large-scale missile and drone attack against Ukraine. Reports from local authorities and monitoring channels indicated a series of explosions in multiple areas. In the capital city of Kyiv, explosions were heard around 3:10 AM local time, as Ukraine's air defense systems engaged incoming threats. The Kyiv Independent reporters on the ground provided updates on the tense situation as residents braced for further attacks.

At the same time, the leader of Kyiv's military administration, Tymur Tkatšenko, reported that ballistic missiles were targeting the capital and urged residents to remain in shelters until the air raid threat was lifted. The ongoing bombardment has caused civilian casualties, with at least two fatalities and several injuries reported in the Kyiv region. Local governor Mykola Kovalchuk confirmed that two individuals died and four were injured in the Brovary district, while additional injuries were reported in other areas affected by the attack.

Moreover, the Zaporizhzhia region also faced Russian airstrikes, resulting in injuries to four civilians, including two children. This latest wave of assaults underscores the persistent threat to Ukrainian cities from Russian military actions and the ongoing humanitarian impact of the conflict, leading to increased calls for international support and clear warnings of the dire situation facing civilians caught in the crossfire.
