2-year-old boy leaves daycare alone and is only found in another school by an app driver in East Zone of SP

A 2-year-old boy in São Paulo left his daycare unsupervised and was later found in front of another school by an app driver.

On March 3, a 2-year-old boy left a municipal daycare in the East Zone of São Paulo and wandered alone through the streets of the Sapopemba neighborhood. Images captured by the driver's dashcam show the child walking with a backpack, even stepping into traffic as vehicles swerved to avoid him. The alarming sight led app driver Wesley Almeida dos Santos to intervene, running to the boy's side to ensure his safety.

Upon reaching the child, who expressed fear and confusion about his mother's disappearance, the driver immediately took him into his protective care. The boy was reportedly a student at the Elizebete Souza Lobo Garcia daycare, which had failed to prevent him from leaving the premises unattended. The incident raises serious concerns about the safety protocols in place at early childhood education facilities in the area.

This incident highlights the critical need for improved supervision and safety measures in daycares to prevent similar occurrences, illustrating the vulnerability of young children when left in environments that do not ensure their safety. Local authorities may need to evaluate the operating procedures of such institutions to avoid endangering the children under their care.
