Araraquara, a city in Brazil, has secured the top position in the Paulista Environmental Ranking as part of the Green-Blue Municipality Program for 2024-2025. This achievement marks a significant milestone for the city, which received an impressive score of 97 points, the highest ever recorded since joining the program. The ranking acknowledges the city’s efforts in various environmental directives such as water management, solid waste handling, and environmental education, underscoring Araraquara's commitment to sustainability.
Moreover, Araraquara's outstanding performance in this ranking has not only earned it the Green-Blue Seal but also the Franco Montoro Governor's Award, which is presented to the best performer in each category of the ranking. The recognition emphasizes the city's excellence in environmental governance and its proactive measures toward ecological well-being. Additionally, the city will receive resources from the State Fund for Water Resources (Fehidro), which can further enhance its environmental projects.
