This infrastructure is part of the Piauí Sustentable Inclusive (PSI) project, aimed at promoting productive inclusion and strengthening rural communities. The wet passage is expected to significantly enhance mobility for local residents, particularly during the rainy season, allowing around 200 families to better access markets and essential services.
Rejane Tavares, the Secretary of Family Agriculture of Piauí, emphasized the critical role this project plays in boosting the commercialization of family agriculture products. According to Tavares, the new structure is vital for ensuring the community's access, which will enable farmers to efficiently transport their produce to market. The previous passage was only 30 centimeters high and would often become submerged, posing challenges for transportation and accessibility in the region.
