Indigo aims at small and medium businesses to expand parking management

Indigo is focusing on expanding its parking management services to small and medium-sized businesses like clinics, hotels, supermarkets, and shopping centers.

Indigo, a parking management company, is setting its sights on expanding its services to small and medium-sized businesses, targeting establishments such as clinics, hotels, supermarkets, and shopping centers. Currently, Indigo primarily manages high-traffic locations, including Parque Ibirapuera, Guarulhos International Airport, and Neo Química Arena, but recognizes the potential in smaller venues by introducing a budget-friendly service option known as "Light." This service is designed to attract clients with lower patronage and operates with reduced costs and staffing requirements, moving away from traditional valet services.

Thiago Piovesan, CEO of Indigo Brazil, states that the company holds approximately 10% of the parking market in the country. Its main competitor, Estapar, also accounts for another 10% market share, leaving a significant portion of the industry fragmented among smaller and independent agencies. Piovesan sees around 80% of the market as open for consolidation, indicating a strong ambition for Indigo to grow its footprint in this sector.

However, penetrating smaller businesses presents its challenges. Indigo must persuade these owners that investing in their parking management services is worthwhile. The success of this strategy may depend on effectively communicating the benefits and efficiency of their proposed models, particularly as they strive to diversify beyond their traditional high-traffic client base to include smaller establishments that need efficient parking solutions.
