Amber reduces its stake in Indra by selling 2% of its capital
Amber Capital has sold a 2% stake in the Spanish company Indra, reducing its ownership from 7.2% to slightly over 5%.
Amber Capital, a British investment firm, has sold approximately 2% of its holdings in the Spanish technology and defense company Indra, going from a total ownership of 7.2% to just above 5%. This transaction has not required disclosure to the Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores (CNMV) as Amber remains one of the largest shareholders in Indra. Following the sale, Amber is now the fourth largest shareholder in the company, trailing behind SEPI, Escribano, and Sapa.
This divestment aligns with Amber's strategic objectives and allows the firm to realize significant latent capital gains from its investments in Indra. Amber's involvement with Indra dates back to June 2022, when it initially acquired a 4.18% stake. The recent sale highlights the firm’s responsive strategy to market conditions, allowing it to adjust its investments while still retaining a substantial stake in the company.
Valued at approximately 175 million euros at current market prices, the stake sale indicates Amber's agility in managing its investment portfolio in a fluctuating market. The continued ownership of more than 5% secures Amber's position as a significant player in Indra, potentially influencing future strategic decisions within the company, especially in a sector that combines technology and defense.
