Two men were arrested in Angra dos Reis, Brazil, while allegedly coordinating drug trafficking activities using walkie-talkies to communicate with dealers.
Two men aged 25 and 28 were arrested in Angra dos Reis, Brazil, under suspicion of involvement in local drug trafficking. The incident took place in the Casinhas do BracuΓ neighborhood, where police observed one suspect using a walkie-talkie in the street. Upon attempting to flee, he was apprehended by the officers. Meanwhile, a second suspect was spotted with another walkie-talkie, which he tried to discard as the police approached.
According to the Civil Police, the phases of the operation revealed that the devices were being employed for a role known locally as "radinho," which involves monitoring police movements and relaying information to drug dealers involved in the sale of illicit substances. This coordination is crucial for traffickers to evade law enforcement and maintain their operations without interruption.
Both men have been taken to the Angra dos Reis police station, where the incident was officially documented. They remain in custody and will face charges related to drug trafficking, highlighting ongoing efforts by Brazilian authorities to combat organized crime and drug-related activities in urban areas.
