More than 200 flights: New details about the American supply bridge to the region

Over 200 military cargo flights have been directed to the Middle East from the United States since late February, primarily from Germany, according to data from Al Jazeera's open-source intelligence unit.

The Al Jazeera open-source intelligence unit has reported that there have been 214 military cargo flights heading to the Middle East from the United States since late February. An analysis using flight tracking data revealed that a significant 86% of these flights originated from military bases in Germany, totaling 185 flights. Additional flights came from the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, and Djibouti, with a noticeable concentration of these journeys toward military bases in the Middle East.

The flight data indicates that out of the total, 138 flights were directed towards military bases in the Middle East, yet many of these military flights purposely concealed the final segment of their routes to maintain the secrecy of the host country's identity. Notably, more than 20 flights were tracked heading towards Israel, Cyprus, and Greece, emphasizing the strategic military engagements in the region and the underlying tensions that characterize these locations.

The analysis also identified three significant waves of air cargo transport, with the first wave peaking on March 1st, which recorded 23 flights. This pattern suggests an organized effort by the U.S. military to reinforce its presence in the region, indicating heightened military activity and potential implications for regional stability amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.
