Ukraine's state-owned oil and gas company Naftogaz has celebrated a legal triumph in its ongoing battle against Russia's Gazprom, following a Swiss court ruling that obliges the Russian firm to pay over $1.4 billion in outstanding debts. The legal challenge began in 2022, after Gazprom reneged on its contractual obligations to fully compensate Naftogaz for the transit of Russian gas, citing logistical complications stemming from Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
