Two people die and three are seriously injured in an accident on BR-386
Two individuals lost their lives and three others sustained serious injuries in a road accident on BR-386 in Soledade, Brazil.
A tragic accident occurred on BR-386, approximately at kilometer 231 in Soledade, Northern Rio Grande do Sul, where two people died and three were seriously injured during the early hours of Friday, the 13th. According to the Federal Highway Police (PRF), the driver of a vehicle attempted to maneuver onto the shoulder to avoid an oncoming bus while trying to overtake a breakdown-laden truck that was stopped on the road. This maneuver led to the driver losing control, crossing into oncoming traffic, and crashing head-on into the stopped truck.
The collision resulted in the death of the driver at the scene, while a passenger succumbed to their injuries shortly after arriving at Hospital Frei Clemente. The remaining three passengers suffered severe injuries and are currently receiving medical care. In contrast, the truck driver, a 43-year-old man, fortunately, emerged unscathed from this incident. Traffic in the area was cleared approximately one hour after the accident took place.
