Tejashwi receiving support from Owaisi? Bihar's politics heats up after talks with Akhtarul Imran
Bihar's upcoming Rajya Sabha elections have sparked intense political maneuvering, with Tejashwi Yadav seeking support from Owaisi's AIMIM party amidst a tight race for the fifth seat.
The political landscape in Bihar has become increasingly heated as the state prepares for the Rajya Sabha elections on March 16, where the competition for the fifth seat has evolved into a complex math problem. The NDA (National Democratic Alliance) has fielded Upendra Kushwaha while the Grand Alliance has Amarendra Dhari Singh contesting for the seat. Currently, the NDA holds 38 votes, just three short of the required 41, while the Grand Alliance also lags by six votes, identifying the smaller parties as crucial players in determining the outcome of these elections.
Crucially, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM), led by Asaduddin Owaisi, is believed to hold significant sway with its five legislators in Bihar, along with support from a Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) representative. In a strategic move, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition, reached out to the AIMIM's Bihar state president Akhtarul Imaan, requesting their backing for the Rajya Sabha elections. The meeting appears to have been fruitful, paving the way for potential collaboration among the parties.
Moreover, the political dialogue continues, with Akhtarul Imaan hosting an iftar gathering on March 15 in Patna, reportedly to further discussions with Tejashwi Yadav and strengthen alliances. The evolving political dynamics in Bihar could significantly impact the upcoming election results, emphasizing the need for opposition unity to navigate the challenges posed by the NDA's majority.
