The bus, which was reported to have lost control while carrying eight passengers, fell into the river near Amunloko Road in the Ona-Ara Local Government Area. The incident occurred on Wednesday, and the authorities received the distress call around 3:38 PM from a local resident who witnessed the event.
Upon receiving the alert, the Fire Services Agency promptly deployed a rescue team to the scene. The team arrived to find a Suzuki commercial bus with the plate number OSUN LEW 484 XA submerged in the river. Through their swift efforts, they managed to rescue five survivors who were subsequently taken to Ona-Ara Private Hospital for medical treatment. However, the unfortunate outcome resulted in three fatalities.
