Three die, five rescued, as bus plunges into river in Oyo

The bus, which was identified by its registration number LEW 484 XA, was carrying eight passengers at the time of the accident. Emergency personnel were able to rescue five survivors who were subsequently taken to Ona-Ara Private Hospital for medical treatment. Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased were recovered and handed over to the local police for further investigations. Oyo State Fire Services Agency Chairman, Mr. Maroof Akinwande, noted that reckless driving was the likely cause of the accident.
