Han Dong-hoon: 'Betrayer? It was South Korea that appointed me, not Yoon Seok-yeol.'
Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon defended himself against accusations of betrayal, asserting that he was appointed by the nation rather than by Yoon Seok-yeol.
In an interview with Japan's Nihon Keizai Shimbun, former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon addressed the accusation of being labeled a 'betrayer' following his political journey that began under President Yoon Seok-yeol. Han emphasized that it was South Korea as a nation that appointed him, not Yoon, dismissing critiques that suggest he has betrayed Yoon’s policies or leadership. He argued against the notion that he should have supported Yoon's actions, even if they were contentious, asserting that if he had acquiesced to an illegal state of emergency, it would symbolize his betrayal of the country.
