Live at 10:25: e-dictation for the hearing impaired
A special e-dictation event for the hearing impaired will be held by Vikerraadio, with a video version available today.
Today at 10:25, Vikerraadio will host its ninth e-dictation event, making it accessible for hearing-impaired individuals who can read lips. The event will feature Kaja KΓ€rner reading the text on air, complemented by a video version where Veronika Uibo presents the text visually. This yearβs e-dictation consists of four sentences, which participants can submit through a dedicated website before 11:00 AM.
The event will allow participants to pause and rewind the video if needed, enhancing accessibility for all participants. Following the e-dictation, participants can view the correct text version along with explanations for more complex parts and common mistakes on the Vikerraadio website at approximately 11:30 AM. At 2:05 PM, the winners of this yearβs event will be announced, along with a summary of the e-dictation activities.
This initiative not only provides a significant opportunity for inclusion in literary activities for the hearing-impaired community but also reflects Vikerraadio's commitment to ensuring accessibility in public broadcasting. Overall, it underscores the importance of inclusivity in educational and cultural events, helping to break down barriers for individuals with hearing disabilities.
