Ufob opens applications for a contest with positions for professors with salaries of up to R$ 14.4 thousand

The Federal University of West Bahia (Ufob) is accepting applications for a public competition offering 29 professor positions with salaries ranging from R$ 3.9 thousand to R$ 14.4 thousand.

The Federal University of West Bahia (Ufob) has announced the opening of applications for a public competition that offers 29 permanent positions for professors. Interested candidates can apply until April 6, using the university's official website. Salaries for the positions range considerably, from R$ 3.9 thousand to R$ 14.4 thousand, depending on the candidate's qualifications and work regime. The bulk of the vacancies are allocated to various municipalities in Bahia, with 20 positions specifically in Barreiras, and others distributed among Barra, Bom Jesus da Lapa, Santa Maria da Vitória, and Luís Eduardo Magalhães.

In an effort to promote diversity and inclusivity, the university has established quotas for the positions. According to Ufob, 30% of the vacancies are reserved for individuals who are black (both Black and mixed-race), indigenous, and from quilombola communities, classified as PNIQ (Pessoas Negras, Indígenas e Quilombolas). An additional 10% of the positions are set aside for individuals with disabilities. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to ensure equitable access to employment in educational institutions.

The application process involves a fee of R$ 300, which can be waived for candidates registered in the Cadastro Único for Social Programs (CadÚnico), provided they meet specific income criteria and are bone marrow donors. This move aims to alleviate financial barriers for lower-income individuals seeking employment in academia, thereby enhancing the diversity of applicants within the university setting.
