Júlio Maurício de Lima, a 55-year-old anesthesiologist, was discovered dead in São João Batista, a town in Greater Florianópolis, following a workday. According to local authorities, he was pronounced dead on the scene after responders were unable to revive him from cardiac arrest, which was suggested to be the cause of death. Emergency services were called to the scene at around 8 PM, where they found him lying on the sidewalk showing no vital signs and exhibiting a purple coloration on his skin, which indicated a critical state.

Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) responded quickly, and a community firefighter present at the scene began cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) immediately. Despite the use of an automatic chest compressor and an automatic external defibrillator (AED) to attempt to restore his heartbeat, the medical team at the hospital later confirmed that he had succumbed to the cardiac event.
