Water truck crashes into house and scares residents in Maricá
A water truck crashed into a house in Maricá, Brazil, causing alarm but no injuries to the residents inside.
In Maricá, a water truck unexpectedly crashed into a residential home on Wednesday afternoon, resulting in a moment of fright for the inhabitants. The incident occurred on Rua Nove and involved a house where an elderly woman, aged 86, and a young woman, aged 19, were present at the time. Fortunately, despite the frightening circumstances, both residents emerged unscathed from the incident.
According to reports from the Military Police, the driver of the truck had parked it next to a supermarket to refuel. He stated that he had just exited the vehicle when it began to roll down the hill unattended, colliding with the house. Thankfully, an agreement was reached between the parties involved at the scene, and the matter did not require formal registration at a police station, allowing for a relatively amicable resolution to the incident.
The accident had a temporary impact on local traffic, as the roadway was reduced to a single lane during the response to the crash. When the truck was being removed from the site, the street was completely closed for a short time, although such disruptions were minimal. This event highlights the potential hazards of vehicles parked on inclines and the need for precautions to prevent similar occurrences in densely populated areas.
