Emergency maintenance affects water supply in over 60 areas of Belém and Ananindeua

Emergency maintenance has temporarily reduced the water supply in 67 areas of Belém and Ananindeua.

On Thursday, August 12, an emergency maintenance operation at the Bolonha Water Treatment Station led to a temporary decrease in water supply across 67 areas in Belém and Ananindeua. The operation, executed by the Companhia de Saneamento do Pará (Cosanpa), disrupted the normal functioning of the water supply system. Affected neighborhoods include Guamá, Cremação, and Marambaia among others. Águas do Pará has announced that as the Bolonha station returns to full operation, water supply to these impacted areas will gradually resume throughout the day. Given the importance of consistent water supply, residents in the affected neighborhoods have been urged to conserve water during the maintenance period. This maintenance work highlights ongoing challenges in urban infrastructure and the need for continuous maintenance to ensure the reliability of essential services like water supply. Such operations, while disrupting service, are necessary for the long-term sustainability of municipal water systems.
