Large rocks have been tumbling down towards the railway tracks from the forested slopes of Mount Chelmos, creating a significant safety hazard for travelers and railway staff alike. As a precautionary measure, the Hellenic Railways Organization (OSE) has announced that inspections and clean-up operations will take place before each scheduled train service during days of heavy rainfall to ensure the tracks are free of debris.

In light of these developments, the OSE has also indicated that an investigative process has been underway since last year regarding the potential dangers associated with the railway network. The results from this inquiry are still pending, and further actions may be taken based on their findings.
