Klæbo to Hospital After Severe Fall

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo was taken to the hospital after a serious fall during the Drammen sprint semifinal, in which he hit his head hard.

Johannes Høsflot Klæbo, a renowned Norwegian skier, had a serious incident during the semifinal of the Drammen sprint, resulting in a fall involving multiple racers. Klæbo's fall was sparked by American skier Ben Ogden, who fell first on a downhill slope, causing Klæbo and two others—Aron Åkre Rystad and Alvar Myhlback—to crash into snow as they attempted to navigate the situation. Klæbo hit the back of his head hard against the snow, which led to concerns about a neck injury as his beanie and ski goggles were knocked off during the tumble.

Upon regaining his composure, Klæbo reacted visibly in pain as he lay on the ground, and although he was able to walk away with assistance from event staff, he was unable to complete the semifinal race. His health status remained uncertain as he was transported to the hospital for further examination around 6:20 PM local time. While Klæbo was conscious and able to move on his own, the severity of his injury was still unclear, raising questions about his recovery and future participation in the competition season.
