The Calgary Police Service reported twelve crashes, including three that resulted in injuries, during the early morning hours of Thursday. The RCMP also issued warnings regarding winter driving conditions on highways surrounding the city, emphasizing the need for caution among motorists.

City officials are actively addressing the snowfall's impact, with Chris McGeachy from the City of Calgary noting that crews are focused on clearing major routes such as Crowchild and Glenmore Trails, as well as Memorial Drive. This winter weather response involves plowing lanes and applying treatment materials to ensure safer travel. In addition, hand crews are specifically working on pedestrian infrastructure, such as pathways and LRT stations, to mitigate risks for non-motorists.

With a rotating shift schedule that extends into April, city road crews are closely monitoring the ongoing snowfall situation. McGeachy stated that as long as temperatures remain below freezing, the city will treat this snowfall like any other winter weather event to maintain safe travelling conditions for all residents. This commitment highlights the city's preparedness to handle the challenges that come with late-season snowfall.
