Company is hired to resume work on the Grande Otelo Theater in Uberlândia

Uberlândia city hall has contracted Lok Service Tecnologia Ltda. to continue restoration work on the historic Grande Otelo Theater after prior efforts were halted.

The city hall of Uberlândia has officially contracted Lok Service Tecnologia Ltda. to resume the restoration of the Grande Otelo Theater, a significant cultural landmark in the city. The previous restoration work had been halted in April 2025 due to the departure of the initial contractor, leading to a pause in efforts to restore this important public space.

The newly signed service order is aimed at preserving the historical, architectural, and cultural significance of the theater, which is recognized as a municipal heritage site. The restoration plan includes work on the theater's façade, improvements to its internal areas, and upgrades to backstage facilities, audience space, and the foyer. These renovations are crucial for revitalizing the venue, ensuring it meets modern standards while honoring its historical roots.

In addition to physical repairs, the project will create the Memorial do Grande Otelo, which will serve to educate and celebrate the rich cultural history associated with the theater. This revitalization not only aims to restore a key cultural asset for Uberlândia but also to enhance the city's cultural landscape, potentially attracting more visitors and fostering community engagement with the arts.
