Alliances, training, and projects: the new strategic plan of women in agriculture
Women in agriculture are set to play a more significant role as highlighted during the Expoagro event, where a new five-year strategic plan was introduced.
The role of women in agriculture gained renewed attention during the Expoagro event, where the Rural Women Network was prominently featured. Ana Laura Sayago, the deputy director of the organization, met with Diego Abdo, the Communication Manager of Exponenciar, who emphasized the critical importance of women's ongoing participation in the agricultural sector. He underscored the transformative changes of recent years, marking a shift from their presence being a novelty to becoming an integral part of various agricultural roles.
Sayago took the opportunity to unveil a strategic five-year plan that her organization aims to implement between 2026 and 2030. The plan is structured around three primary programmatic pillars: networking and advocacy, training, and socio-productive projects. A key focus will be on expanding their outreach to all 23 provinces of Argentina, ensuring that women across the country receive the support and resources they need to thrive in the agricultural sector.
Furthermore, the emphasis on training showcases a commitment to empowering women with the skills necessary to excel in their respective roles within agriculture. This initiative not only aims to strengthen the presence of women in agriculture but also promotes inclusivity and collaboration across the provinces in Argentina, potentially leading to broader economic benefits and improved agricultural productivity in the region.
