A message for travelers from another organizer: already purchased trips are getting more expensive
The rising fuel prices are significantly increasing trip costs for travelers, particularly those booked with Novaturo.
As fuel prices have surged, they now constitute about half of the cost of transporting passengers, leading Novaturo, a travel organization in Lithuania, to announce an additional fuel surcharge. This temporary measure is intended to reflect the increased costs associated with travel arrangements, and the company commits to reassessing this surcharge monthly in response to market changes. According to Ieva GalvydienΔ, the head of Novaturo, transparency is a priority, and customers will be kept informed of these developments.
The additional fuel fee will impact trips operated by Novaturo from Lithuania with Avion Airlines and GetJet Airlines, starting from April 2, 2026, and ending on April 30, 2026. The surcharge will apply only to trips that were purchased or reserved before March 11, 2026. For bookings made after March 12, the changes in fuel prices will already be included in the final ticket price, reflecting a proactive approach to pricing in this volatile market.
This measure comes amidst broader discussions in Europe, as countries like Hungary and Croatia are also striving to mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs. The travel industry is facing significant challenges due to these economic conditions, and both customers and companies must navigate these changes carefully to ensure sustainability and affordability in travel experiences.
