Travel agency prices have skyrocketed. As many as five holiday destinations set new records
Travel agency prices surged significantly last week, with sharp increases for trips to several popular destinations.
In the past week, the average price of trips booked through travel agencies for departures between August 3 and 9 rose by 136 zlotys, according to the latest report from the Travel Market Research Institute, Traveldata. This marks not only the largest increase of the year but also a continuation of a trend, as previous weeks have also seen average price rises of 43, 28, 47, 64, and 10 zlotys. Therefore, travel agencies are experiencing a pattern of escalating costs in their offerings.
The reports particularly highlighted notable increases in average trip costs to Portugal, which rose by 363 zlotys, followed closely by price hikes for trips to Sardinia at 325 zlotys, and Costa del Sol at 303 zlotys. These destinations are among the most popular for Polish tourists, indicating a strong demand that could be driving up prices. Meanwhile, the report also noted some exceptions with drops in prices for holidays in Sicily, which decreased by 237 zlotys, and Albania by 5 zlotys.
These price fluctuations may reflect broader trends in the travel industry amid rising inflation and changing demand patterns, providing valuable insights for both consumers and the travel sector. As prices continue to soar in some areas while decreasing in others, travelers may need to be strategic in their planning to manage costs effectively.
