BUA Cement provides farming inputs to 300 displaced Sokoto farmers
BUA Cement has launched a program to support 300 displaced farmers in Sokoto State by providing them with agricultural inputs to enhance productivity and livelihoods.
In Sokoto State, Nigeria, BUA Cement has initiated a Sustainable Livelihood Restoration Programme that aims to assist farmers who have been displaced due to the company's expansion activities. This program has begun with the distribution of agricultural inputs to 300 farmers from host communities near the company's operations in Wamakko Local Government Area. The initiative is designed to not only support these farmers but is also expected to have a positive impact on about 1,500 people across the affected communities.
During the distribution of materials, the Chairman of Wamakko Local Government, Umar Mohammed, expressed his gratitude to BUA Cement for their ongoing support. He emphasized the importance of the support provided, encouraging farmers to effectively utilize the agricultural inputs to meet the program's goals. The chairman believes this intervention will significantly boost local farming activities and enhance food production, thereby improving the livelihoods of the community.
