A Bold Move on Diesel Taxation

Finnish MP Mia Laiho calls for the complete abolition of the diesel tax for private car owners due to its high costs compared to gasoline.

In a recent blog post on Uuden Suomen Puheenvuoro, Finnish MP Mia Laiho from the National Coalition Party has made a strong case for the elimination of the diesel tax imposed on private vehicle owners. Laiho expressed her concerns about the rising costs of diesel, which she pointed out is now more expensive than both 95-octane and 98-octane gasoline, with recent prices reaching 2.149 € per liter for diesel, compared to 1.989 € and 2.099 € for the gasolines. She describes these prices as unreasonable, urging for quick action to relieve private car owners from this financial burden.
