The Lagos State Government has initiated an investigation into the premature death of a socialite known as 'Elena', who allegedly passed away after undergoing a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure at an unidentified clinic in Lagos. The BBL is a popular cosmetic surgery where fat is removed from other body parts and injected into the buttocks to achieve a more voluminous appearance. Reports suggest that Elena experienced severe complications following the surgery, prompting concern and scrutiny from health officials.

The investigation is being led by the Health Facilities Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA), which is responsible for ensuring the safety and accreditation of health facilities in Lagos State.
