DEPA Trading: Import of a new LNG cargo from the USA

DEPA Trading has imported a new shipment of LNG from the USA to enhance Greece's energy security and supply.

DEPA Trading has successfully imported a shipment of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to the Revythousa LNG terminal from the Sabine Pass terminal in the USA. A portion of this shipment will be delivered to Atlantic SEE LNG Trade while the remainder will cater to the domestic market's needs. This move is expected to significantly enhance the energy sufficiency of Greece and contribute to the overall energy security of the country.

The energy sector in Greece faces challenges due to heightened geopolitical uncertainties and volatility in international energy markets. Christos Basdekis, the Commercial Director of DEPA Trading, emphasized the strategic importance of sourcing LNG from secure suppliers. This diversification of sources is crucial for maintaining a stable energy supply in Greece, especially during times of crisis when reliable energy access is paramount.

The import of LNG from the USA not only fulfills immediate domestic energy needs but also reflects the broader efforts to strengthen Greece's energy infrastructure and security. In light of fluctuating energy prices and regulatory challenges, steps like these reinforce the importance of partnerships and reliable sources in shaping the future of Greece's energy landscape.
