Car crashes into roundabout and driver abandons vehicle in Campo Grande
A driver abandoned his vehicle after crashing into a roundabout in Campo Grande, Brazil, early Thursday morning.
A car was found abandoned inside a roundabout at the intersection of Gury Marques and Senador Mendes Canale avenues in Campo Grande, Brazil, following an accident that occurred at around 4:55 AM on Thursday, October 12. According to a witness, the vehicle was speeding along Avenida Costa e Silva when it mounted the roundabout and came to a stop on the median. After the crash, the motorist took a few moments to exit the car and reportedly called for a rideshare service, leaving the scene shortly thereafter.
The vehicle, which was a new model from this year, suffered damage to its front left wheel as a result of the collision. Local authorities, including the Municipal Transport and Traffic Agency (Agetran), assessed the situation and confirmed that the car was regular and did not have any reports of theft or robbery at the time of the incident. Agetran is currently attempting to contact the vehicle's owner to resolve the situation.
This incident highlights ongoing issues with reckless driving in urban areas, particularly during the early hours when traffic may be lighter but dangerous behavior is still prevalent. The City's transport agency's response also emphasizes the importance of addressing such accidents promptly to ensure the safety of all road users.
