Gastronomy in Dorfen: Viktoriia Musiienko takes over the Jakobmayer
Viktoriia Musiienko has taken over the management of the Jakobmayer cultural center in Dorfen, aiming to revitalize its offerings with her unique vision.
Since the end of last year, the gastronomy section of the Jakobmayer cultural center in Dorfen had been closed, following the departure of previous hosts Steffi Striegl and Simon Huber after eight years of management. The city, which owns the historic building, had received applications from two candidates, and ultimately Viktoriia Musiienko, a Ukrainian restaurateur, was awarded the contract. Her plans include managing the event hall located on the first floor, which was a significant factor in the decision made by Mayor Heinz Grundner during the contract signing.
The Jakobmayer is recognized as the cultural center in the Erding district, featuring a historically significant Art Nouveau hall. Over the upcoming months, the venue is set to welcome well-known artists, such as Wolfgang Krebs, Urban Priol, and Eisi Gulp, presenting a variety of performances aimed at enriching the local cultural scene. Additionally, the building houses a cinema on the ground floor, dedicated to showcasing thoughtful films from around the globe rather than mainstream Hollywood blockbusters, thus creating a diverse cultural offering for the community.
Musiienko's management is seen as a promising development for the center, which aims to attract visitors and generate revenue through a blend of culinary and cultural experiences. The anticipated reopening is scheduled for March 29th, indicating a revitalization effort for local gastronomy and cultural engagement in Dorfen, as the community looks forward to both familiar and new events that will take place in this historic venue.
