A woman was the victim of an attempted rape at Tambaú beach in João Pessoa on the evening of October 11. According to the military police, the suspect attempted to grab the victim as she emerged from the sea. However, the victim managed to evade the attack and sought help from nearby individuals. The man was located and apprehended shortly after the incident at the seaside.

The incident unfolded as the woman exited the water and ran towards the shore to find assistance. Through tears, she reported to the police that a tall, dark-skinned man wearing an orange shirt and black shorts had tried to assault her. Coronel Souza Neto, a police officer, conveyed that the woman was visibly shaken and described the suspect's appearance, which aided the authorities in quickly identifying and apprehending him near the beach.

Following her distress call, police teams conducted searches in the area and successfully found the suspect still at the water's edge. The prompt response by law enforcement highlights the importance of community vigilance and support in such serious matters, underscoring the ongoing issue of violence against women in public spaces in Brazil.
