A 25-year-old man was arrested in the town of Princesa Isabel, located in the Sertão region of Paraíba, Brazil, after he broke into a house and attempted to sexually assault a 29-year-old woman. The incident occurred early in the morning on Friday, and was confirmed by the Civil Police. According to the lead investigator, Guttemberg Cabral, at the time of the invasion, the woman was at home with her three young children, aged 4, 8, and 10, who were asleep and unaware of the crime taking place.

The intruder forcibly prevented the woman from calling for help, escalating the situation until she pleaded for him to stop the sexual assault. Following her pleas, the suspect fled the scene, but he was later apprehended by the authorities while still at the crime scene. Notably, he was already under a monitoring order due to a prior conviction for robbery, which raises concerns about his prior offenses and potential risks to the community.
