Water supply has been interrupted in the islands of Maré, Frades, Bom Jesus dos Passos, Paramana, Loreto, and Ponta de Nossa Senhora, all part of the municipality of Salvador, as well as in the cities of Candeias, Madre de Deus, and São Francisco do Conde within the metropolitan area. This suspension is due to urgent repairs needed on a large pipeline, according to the Empresa Baiana de Águas e Saneamento (Embasa).
