Romet Jürgenson and Robert Virves secured strong positions in the WRC2 category during a warm-up for the Kenya Rally, showcasing their competitive prowess.

Romet Jürgenson and Robert Virves demonstrated impressive speed during the warm-up for the Kenya Rally, an event in the World Rally Championship (WRC) series. The test stage took place on Thursday morning and was led by Thierry Neuville in the overall classification, driving a Hyundai. Jürgenson and Virves managed to place within the top five of the WRC2 category, indicating their readiness for the challenges ahead.

Thierry Neuville completed the 6.31 km warm-up stage with a best time of 4:33.1, finishing 1.8 seconds ahead of second-place Oliver Solberg in a Toyota. Following Solberg, teammates Sami Pajari, Elfyn Evans, and Sebastien Ogier filled the next three spots respectively. Neuville noted the unpredictability of the rally, expressing hope that their previous experiences would help them find the right rhythm, while recognizing the difficulty of the task at hand.

Current world champion Sebastien Ogier highlighted the challenges posed by the weather, as heavy rain made certain sections particularly tough. He stated that the primary goal for all competitors would be to navigate the course without encountering significant issues. As the teams prepare for the full rally, the performance of Jürgenson and Virves in the warm-up hints at a competitive showdown in WRC2, setting the stage for an exciting event ahead.
