Prosecution files objection to the Bar Association’s partial dismissal of disciplinary action against Kim Yong-hyun’s defense team
The prosecution has objected to the Bar Association's decision to partially dismiss the disciplinary action against three of Kim Yong-hyun's lawyers.
The prosecution in South Korea has filed an objection against the Korean Bar Association's recent decision to partially dismiss the disciplinary action regarding the defense team of Kim Yong-hyun, a former Minister of National Defense. On January 5, the prosecution proposed disciplinary measures against lawyers Lee Ha-sang, Kwon Woo-hyeon, and Yoo Seung-soo, who represented Kim. This was due to accusations that their conduct during court sessions and insulting comments made on YouTube had harmed the dignity of the court and the ethical obligations of lawyers. However, on June 6, the Bar Association only accepted the request for disciplinary action concerning the YouTube statements, rejecting other claims made by the prosecution.
