On March 10th, at approximately 9:07 AM, firefighters from the Kaunas Fire and Rescue Board responded to a reported fire in a two-story apartment building located in Žiežmariai, Sodų Street, in the Kaišiadorys district. Upon arrival, the firefighters discovered that black smoke was billowing from the first floor of the building, prompting urgent action to ensure the safety of the residents.

The firefighters executed a safe evacuation route and successfully led 10 individuals out from the building to a secure area, preventing potential injuries from smoke inhalation or fire. The fire was concentrated in the kitchen area where it damaged a small section of wall, a boiler, kitchen furniture, and a refrigerator, leading to significant smoke damage throughout the apartment.

The incident is currently under investigation to determine the cause of the fire. Authorities are likely examining whether any safety regulations were overlooked and how residents' safety can be improved in similar situations in the future, highlighting the importance of fire safety awareness in residential buildings.
