Following recent Security Council decisions, Gulf nations have faced a wave of Iranian missile and drone attacks. On Thursday morning, countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Kuwait reported successful interceptions of these aerial threats. In Dubai, a drone fell on a building in Dubai Creek Harbor, prompting a swift evacuation and response from the authorities, who ensured all residents were safe and unharmed. Updates indicate that the incident has been fully controlled.
The UAE's Ministry of Defense reported active engagements with Iranian aerial threats, confirming the interception of 6 ballistic missiles, 7 cruise missiles, and 39 drones on Wednesday alone. Since the escalation of these attacks, they have successfully dealt with 268 ballistic missiles and 1514 drones attributed to Iranian sources. These figures underscore the significant scale and persistence of the Iranian threats faced by these nations in the Gulf region.
In Saudi Arabia, defense forces also reported successful interceptions, destroying over 18 drones in the Eastern Province and three ballistic missiles headed toward Prince Sultan Air Base. The ongoing confrontations highlight the rising tensions in the Gulf is a result of escalating hostilities, emphasizing regional security and defense collaborations among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states amidst geopolitical friction with Iran.
