Seoul National University and Seoul Investment Promotion Foundation Sign Agreement to Foster Strategic Industries such as AI and Support Global Companies' Entry into Seoul

Seoul National University has entered into an agreement with the Seoul Investment Promotion Foundation to collaborate on enhancing foreign investment and supporting strategic industries including AI in the Seoul area.

On March 11, Seoul National University (president Won Yong-geol) signed a memorandum of understanding with the Seoul Investment Promotion Foundation (chairman Lee Ji-hyung) at the university's main office. The agreement aims to stimulate foreign investment in Seoul and support the establishment of global companies by fostering strategic industries, including artificial intelligence (AI). Both agencies committed to building a cooperative system based on mutual respect and trust to attract foreign investment firms and enhance local economic growth through talent development and R&D collaboration in strategic sectors.

Key aspects of the agreement include attracting and supporting companies in strategic industries like AI, developing talent linked to employment in these sectors, fostering industry-academia collaboration for R&D and technological exchanges, and establishing networks for strategic information sharing. The agreement outlines plans for supporting foreign investment firms in their initial stages of entering Seoul by utilizing the educational and research infrastructure of Seoul National University, as well as providing advisory services related to taxation, accounting, and legal matters to facilitate their smooth establishment.
