A 60-year-old man had to be rescued from the Pardo River in downtown Poços de Caldas, Brazil, after falling into the water late Wednesday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1:30 PM, near the Central Station of the Teleférico. Firefighters reported that when they found the man, he was clinging to a tree branch, struggling against the strong current, and showing signs of exhaustion.
To perform the rescue, one firefighter entered the river secured by a safety rope. He managed to reach the man and successfully pull him out of the water without causing him any additional injuries. Post-rescue, the man was provided with medical assistance, and likely as a result of his condition before the fall, he exhibited signs of intoxication, along with facial injuries. He was subsequently transported to the local emergency unit for further treatment.
