On Friday, firefighters discovered a body on the banks of the Rio das Velhas in Jaboticatubas, near Belo Horizonte, which is believed to belong to Arthur Henrique, a 24-year-old man missing since he was swept away by floodwaters in Sabará on Monday. The victim's body was found trapped in a sand dredge in a hard-to-reach location. After retrieval, it was handed over to the Civil Police for examination at the Medical Legal Institute (IML). Firefighters stated that the identification of the body would be confirmed post forensic analysis.

Arthur Henrique went missing after being dragged into a storm sewer in the Itacolomi neighborhood while attempting to break a wall to assist with drainage in a home just moments before his disappearance. A video capturing this incident has been circulated, showing his desperate efforts to help. The rescue operation involved extensive searches spanning five days to locate the young man following the incident.
