A fugitive identified as L.C. de M. was arrested in Barreiras do Piauí after being suspected of fatally assaulting a 65-year-old man during a robbery in Chapada da Natividade, Tocantins, back in November 2025. The elderly victim was reportedly attacked and robbed of his motorcycle and mobile phone during the incident. Following the robbery, the suspect was seen using the stolen motorcycle but managed to evade capture until his recent arrest.

The arrest took place on the morning of Tuesday, November 11, when police from the Gilbués precinct acted upon a preventive arrest warrant against the suspect. Upon being approached by the authorities, the suspect attempted to flee into a nearby forest but was quickly apprehended.
