Motorcycle couriers will start receiving a hazard pay starting in April, says Labor Minister in ES; find out who will be entitled
Starting April 3, motorcycle couriers in Brazil will receive hazard pay according to a new regulation announced by the Labor Minister.
Beginning April 3, motorcycle couriers, or motoboys, in Brazil will be entitled to hazard pay, as announced by Luiz Marinho, the Minister of Labor and Employment, during his visit to EspΓrito Santo. The implementation of this new rule comes under the revised Anexo V of Norma Regulamentadora nΒΊ 16 (NR-16), which outlines the criteria for identifying hazardous activities.
The additional compensation will apply to employees who are formally registered and meet certain conditions as assessed by their employers. Companies will be required to evaluate their registered workers to determine eligibility for the added pay based on the newly stipulated guidelines. This change aims to provide better protection and recognition for motoboys and others who rely on motorcycles for their work.
The Minister emphasized the importance of these regulations in enhancing workplace safety for those in hazardous roles, particularly emphasizing the need for companies to adhere to these standards to ensure that their employees are adequately compensated for the risks they face on the job.
