A big shock during the daughter’s wedding celebration: a purse filled with 1 million rupees stolen from the hotel room
During a wedding celebration in Barabanki, a family experienced a significant loss when a purse containing 1 million rupees was stolen from their hotel room.
In Barabanki, India, a family faced a shocking theft during their daughter's wedding festivities. Nitu Pathak, who had booked a hall and rooms in the Shalimar Paradise hotel from February 20-23 for her daughter Girisha's wedding, reported that her purse, which contained approximately 1 million rupees in cash received as gifts, was stolen from her hotel room. The incident took place on February 21 when hotel workers entered the room to change bed linens while the family was occupied with the wedding preparations.
According to Nitu Pathak, two hotel employees from Raebareli, Manoj Kumar and Govind, allegedly wrapped her purse, which was placed on the bed, in the bed sheet and took it away. The incident was captured on the hotel's CCTV, indicating possible involvement by hotel staff. Despite the CCTV footage evidencing the theft, the family felt compelled to wait 15 days before filing a police complaint at the Kotwali police station due to various considerations surrounding the wedding and subsequent stress from the theft.
The case raises serious concerns regarding security at hotels during major events and the integrity of hotel staff. Customers expect a safe environment for their belongings, especially during significant occasions such as weddings. This incident not only brings to light the vulnerability of guests but also stresses the need for hotels to implement stricter security measures and staff checks to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
