PKP Intercity is launching a new train service called 'Nieśpieszny', featuring scenic routes across Poland with over 40 connections on weekends.
PKP Intercity has announced the introduction of a new train service named 'Nieśpieszny', aimed at providing leisurely travel across picturesque routes in Poland. According to a special announcement made on March 5, the trains are set to operate on weekends, allowing travelers to explore different provinces at a relaxed pace. Each journey will take a different direction, providing a unique experience of Poland's diverse landscapes and regions.
The 'Nieśpieszny' service will feature a historic train fleet, comprising classic olive-green carriages from various eras of Polish rail history, with around 200 seats available in each train. The service's uniqueness also lies in the iconic locomotives that will lead the train, including the legendary EP05-23 'Czesio' and several renowned 'Siódemki' locomotives, which have become symbols of Polish railways.
As more than 40 connections are planned under whimsical names like 'Góral', 'Sawa', 'Krasnal', and 'Krzyżak', this initiative not only brings back historical elements of Polish rail travel but also aims to promote domestic tourism by encouraging people to explore various regions across the country. This endeavor reflects a nostalgic return to the past while embracing the beauty of Poland's landscapes and cultural heritage.
